When my parents, Leon and Renee Kaplan, opened their first toy store in 1951, they were dedicated to providing unique toys and gifts that promoted learning through play. As the benefits of investments in early care and education became more evident, their vision expanded to designing toys that teach and developing materials that share the value of play with parents and caregivers.
In 1968, my father founded Kaplan School Supply, which soon became Kaplan Early Learning Company, and embodied his vision of providing developmentally appropriate resources that help foster the growth of the whole child - cognitively, physically, and social-emotionally.
